She
gets her first professional experience by performing
on local TV programs. She appears in Rex Tailor's Stars of
Tomorrows at age 5, at ages 6 - 10 she performs on Sally Star Tune Dusters
, 7 - 9 Tony Grant Show and at age 10 Horn and Hardart's
Children Hour. |

While
performing at a family wedding, Peggy was discovered
by Russel Smith. He was able to obtain an audition for Peggy at RCA and took her to the studio where she auditioned for Hugo Peretti and Lugi Creatore, joint heads of RCA's pop AR team. Peggy was signed with with the label and began recording for RCA in the spring of 1961.
Smith became Peggy's first manager. |

Peggy
records her hit song I Will
Follow Him on January 22. The release peaks at number 1 on the US Charts for 3
weeks. The song becomes an international success as
well. I Will Follow Him
reaches number one in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and
Scandinavia. In Germany the song reaches number 8.

Peggy
has her first success in Germany with the song Lady
Music. She also has her first number one
chart hit in Japan. After her appearing in the
San Remo festival, her first her first Italian album (produced by Ennio
Morricone) is released. Te ne vai quickly
rises to number one in Italy. |
| 1965 |
Peggy
establishes her European career. "Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye" climbs up to position 8 on the German
Charts. It was with one of her best known singles, Mit
17 hat man noch Träume, that she took first
place in the Deutschen Schlagerfestspiele at
Baden-Baden in 1965 (winning by more than 100
point the lead). Winning this prestigious
event provides Peggy with the momentum to be firmly
established as a major recording artist in Germany.

stays in the German top 10 for 3 months. It is
recorded in English, Japanese and Italian. |

In Argentina, Peggy
is introduced to the South American market. She guest stars in a concert with José Feliciano.
The album "Amor" is released along
with several singles sung in Spanish |
| 1967 |
Peggy
was unable to be in control of her finances until
age 18 due to the American laws at the time. Her
earnings from the previous 3 years is squandered by her
manager. She is left with only 500 dollars.
However, Peggy remains popular in Japan and Europe.
She begins the most successful years in her career. Together
with producer Wolfgang Kabitzky and songwriter Henry
Mayer, Peggy continues to top the German charts with
successes like Memories of Heidelberg
(number 5) and Romeo and Julia
(which provides Peggy with another number one
release). These two songs spend 43 weeks on the German hit
charts. |

Peggy
acquires a new manger, Arnie Harris. In Japan, she has
a number 1 hit with Wasurenaiwa.
In Germany she is awarded a bronze "Otto" from
the Teenage magazine Bravo. Peggy continues to be in
demand in Europe and Japan She scores more hits in Germany that
year.
Peggy continues to have success in Italy, and particularly in
Japan. She performs regularly on TV as well as live
performances. |

Peggy
begins to explore song writing. She co-authored the
European hit songs Manuel Goodbye
(1981) and When the Rain Begins to Fall
(1981). |
| 1981 |
Peggy
and her family return to the States. Peggy continues
to record in Germany and play in clubs both in
Europe and the US. |
| 1993
- 1997 |
She
records the album Alle Frauen wollen nur das
eine and once again began to appear on
the German charts with successes such as Zieh
meine Schule aus and Flieg mit mir
zum Regenbogen. Subsequent albums followed
and Peggy charts with hits such as Bald, bald,
bald (1995), Du Hast noch 5 Minuten
Zeit (1995), Kommst du heut
nacht (1997) .
Peggy begins a very successful career as a
watercolor artist. Her artwork has been displayed in
galleries throughout the world. |
